Jayla e. Felder
Jayla E. Felder, is a native of Maryland, and, senior at the New School, currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Fine Arts. She also, works part-time at Voices for a Second Chance(VSC), a social service agency based in Washington, DC. During her schooling, she was introduced to Voices for a Second Chance (VSC), a non-profit organization that provides services to returning citizens and, justice-involved individuals. Over her 4+ years with VSC, her responsibilities expanded within the organization and, she now serves as the Program and Operations Assistant.
During her time with VSC, she has helped in developing new programs, initiatives and, has raised community-based awareness about the incredible work of VSC. Her commitment and passion in working within social services continues to grow significantly.
She has found that she has developed a dual passion for theatre and, social services. Her dedication in both fields has inspired her to merge the two, in an upcoming documentary film short she is curating for her thesis at The New School. She looks forward to sharing the film and, receiving her bachelor’s degree in the Spring of 2022 and continuing her work in supporting the administrative needs of VSC.
